How do I make a purchase?

Orders can be placed online or by contacting us directly at or calling 306.978.1940. Our knowledgeable team is available to assist you in selecting the right seedlings and completing your order.

What payment methods are accepted for orders?

We accept payments from all major credit card providers. For specific details or to discuss alternative payment options, please contact us at or 306.978.1940.

Can I modify or cancel my order after it has been placed?

Amendments or cancellations can be made within 48 hours of the original order creation date. Cancellations made after 48 hours are subject to a 30% restocking fee. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cancellations within 7 days of the ship date or after the order has been shipped. Contact us at or 306.978.1940.

What is the pick-up process for local customers?

Our pick up location is 810 Valley Road, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Pick up is Wednesday thru Friday, 9:00am - 4:15pm.

Please notify us 48 hours in advance to arrange a pick-up date and time. Ensure to bring a tarp or windscreen for transporting containerized plant material. Contact us at or 306.978.1940.

How are the seedlings shipped, and what are the shipping costs?

We ship our seedlings with utmost care to ensure they arrive in excellent condition. The shipping method is chosen based on your preference or at our discretion if not specified. The cost of shipping is determined by the order size, destination, and the shipping method chosen at the checkout. Free shipping is offered on orders over $200 to British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. All goods travel at the buyer’s risk and expense.

Where do you ship to?

We primarily serve customers within North America, with a special focus on catering to the needs of clients in Canada and the United States. However, we do have the capability to ship internationally, though this is subject to certain limitations and restrictions. International orders must be placed over the phone at 306.978.1940.

For international orders, customers should be aware of the following:

  • Minimum Order Requirement: There is a minimum order value of $2,500 CAD for U.S. destinations. The minimum may vary for other international destinations.
  • Inspection Fee: An inspection fee of $75.00 is charged for international orders, as live plants leaving Canada must be inspected by a government official.
  • Additional Fees: There may be extra charges for brokerage, Phytosanitary Certificate fees, packaging, and postage.
  • Shipping Policy Compliance: Our standard shipping policy applies to international orders, including the handling of any damages or delays incurred during transit.
  • Species Restrictions: Import and export controls may prevent us from shipping certain species outside of Canada.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?

If your stock is damaged or if there are any discrepancies, please file a claim with the transport company immediately and notify us by phone within 3 days and in writing within 5 days of receipt. Contact us at or 306.978.1940.

What is your guarantee policy on seedlings?

Select Seedling Nursery collects seed in hardiness Zones 2 and 3. Our Saskatoon berry cultivars are only F-1 generation seed. Our tree and shrub seedlings are healthy and true to name. All stock is graded in accordance with specifications prepared by the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association.

We guarantee our seedlings for 45 days of planting with proper care. You must make a good faith effort to plant your trees in a timely manner into appropriate conditions. You must make good faith effort to care for your trees before and after planting. Weeding and watering are not optional. We are not responsible for results in transplanting, potting stock, aesthetic issues, slow growth, winter survival, over and under watering, drought, floods, fire, extreme weather, disease, pests, sprayed with herbicide, delayed planting, not planted at all, or any conditions beyond our control.

No refunds are given. If the plant(s) die within the 45 days we will provide replacement plants or give you store credit for the value of the trees towards future purchase(s) of seedlings with the return of the dead plants. The credit value will not exceed the unit price from the original invoice. Please note: the bare root shipping season ends late June, therefore replacement plants may be shipped the following spring. We do not cover the cost of shipping or handling on replacement plants. We only warranty plants ONCE. Please make all efforts to ensure the replacements plants grow.

Contact us immediately to report damaged, unhealthy, or missing plants. You must care for your trees before planting them.

How can I make a claim if my seedlings do not meet the guarantee?

To make a claim, email within 45 days of receiving your plants.

Your email should include:

Your name
Invoice number
Description of the problem
Quantity of plants in question
Photos – so we can see planting site as well as what is happening with the plants
Tips for taking and submitting photos:

Wait at least 30 days after you planted your seedlings. Some species need the full 30 days to flush.
Take 1 or 2 photos of the general area
Take 1 closeup photo of EACH seedling that failed to grow up to a limit of 2 or 3 photos of each species for which you are making a claim. (We do not require 50 photos of 50 seedlings of the same species that did not grow).
Ensure we can see the ground your seedling is planted into as well as the seedling itself
It is a busy time of year so it might take a while to process your claim. We appreciate your patience. By the time you may be submitting a claim it is not always possible to send replacement seedlings within the same season. Please note: shipping cost is NOT covered by our guarantee. All shipping costs are at your expense and require payment prior to shipping your replacement seedlings.

If you do not wish to receive replacment seedlings a store credit will be issued for the amount you paid for the portion of the seedlings that did not meet our guarantee. If we determine that you did not care for or handle your seedlings according to our instructions you may not receive the maximum claim amount.

Our goal is the success of your project. Repeating mistakes again the following year helps no one. If you cannot assist us in our troubleshooting we will not be able to complete your claim.

What types of seedlings do you offer?

We specialize in a variety of hardy tree and shrub seedlings, particularly Saskatoon Berry seedlings (with cultivars like JB30, Martin, Northline, Smoky, and Thiessen). How are your seedlings grown and cared for before sale?

Our seedlings are grown in plug trays within specially constructed greenhouses to ensure optimal growing conditions. They are harvested in the fall and stored in frozen storage throughout the winter, ensuring they remain in a dormant state until shipped.
